Michelle’s Mission:
Michelle sparks a love of learning in her students. She wants them to evaluate their thinking and to respect the world around us. By providing each child with a safe environment to take risks, her students gain knowledge through direct instruction, independent and group activities, and self-discovery time.

The experience that informs Michelle’s teaching:
This year is Michelle’s seventh year of teaching preschool to Grade 4 throughout the Bay Area. Additionally she taught English in Japan for two years to students ages 2 to 96. She graduated from the Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI), which focused on teaching in independent schools.

Michelle has trained extensively to meet students’ diverse needs. Last year she focused on math teaching practices and skill building. She attended two math conferences, including the National Council of Teachers in Mathematics. Michelle’s recent summer training focused on Responsive Classroom practices, including community building, guided discovery, and interactive modeling.

Trinity School is familiar territory for Michelle who is a product of independent schools in Southern California and Hawaii. She is delighted for Trinity School students whose families value independent education. Michelle is excited to join the Trinity School community.
