Student Philanthropy at Trinity School
Modeling philanthropy for our students is important to instill in them a sense of a discerning heart.
Each year, every class is asked to design and implement at least one class community service project tied to their curriculum. In addition, the Student Teacher Leadership Team designs three school-wide projects.
In the recent past, the philanthropic efforts of Trinity School students have:
- Designing, crafting, and raffling a quilt to benefit earthquake victims in Pakistan
- Creating care packages for soldiers in Iraq
- Creating school supply packages for students in Latin America
- Helping secure new fiction books for the Taft Library in Redwood City
Ongoing efforts include working with the Guan Ai school in rural China.
In 2009, students and Trinity School established the Heart of Trinity Awards, determined by students in Grade 5 and Grade 4. The awards are given to organizations that students have worked with through service learning or through calssroom experiences during their tenure at Trinity School.
