Blessing of the Animals is an Episcopal tradition where we celebrate Saint Francis by bringing our pets to be blessed by our chaplain. St Francis lived in the 1200s and is known for giving up his wealth, founding the monastic order of the Franciscans who take vows of simple living and care for the less fortunate, and his love and care for the natural world and animals.

This event is where students can bring their actual pet, a photo of their pet, or their "pet" stuffed animal (if you do not have a pet at home). They will then have the opportunity to have their pet blessed and take part in the Trinity Pet Parade. If you bring your actual pet, we ask that a parent/guardian stay for the duration of the parade so that pets can be brought home afterward. Students will also have a chance to share their pet or stuffie in class during the day. Should a stuffed animal not make it to school the day of, we also have a few extras on hand. Thank you for joining us for this beautiful and exciting event that had an incredible turnout last year, and we are sure there will be even more people in attendance this year.
