Big Help at Trinity

Kim Thacker
I’m so excited and overwhelmed by all Trinity School has done this past month with Big Help Day and Penny Panic. Thank you, families, for supporting your students and all your donations. You are wonderful examples to your kids of the value of helping people in need.
This Saturday, many Trinity students and their families came together for Big Help Day, which started with a beautiful concert by a student choir and individual instrumentalists at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Redwood City. So many residents thanked us and asked us to please come back. Next, we gathered at Trinity's Early Childhood Campus for several projects. Families assembled 148 school supply kits for Kindergarten students in the Ravenswood East Palo Alto School district and 140 snack kits with cards for troops to be distributed through Operation Care and Comfort.

We also sorted through 15 big boxes of books donated for Achungo School in Kenya and schools in East Palo Alto while others helped make dinner for 120 people at a Mountain View transitional housing center through the Life Moves network.  The day concluded with a couple of families bringing and serving the hot meal.  Throughout the day, I was continually impressed by students' excitement about helping and requests of “what can I do to help now?”  It was a joyful and meaningful day; thanks for all your support.
